COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER — PORTLAND, HOOD RIVER & THE WEST COAST
The Gorge brings the drama. We handle the wind.
What would it feel like to say your vows on a cliff above the Columbia River?
This canyon runs 80 miles through the Cascades, with 4,000-foot walls. It holds the greatest concentration of waterfalls in North America. It does not do subtle.
Here's what the photos don't show. Exposed viewpoints mean real wind, fast light, and weather that changes its mind hourly. A Columbia River Gorge wedding rewards a team that plans for it.
That's us: one photo-and-film team, fluent in this terrain. You get the epic backdrop and the presence to enjoy it.
How we cover Gorge weddings
- Wind runs the show. We scout sheltered angles and shield your vow audio. Your film sounds like vows, not a storm.
- Light moves fast between the cliffs. Portraits get timed to the golden windows. You keep the glow without missing your own party.
- Weather has opinions. Every timeline carries a real backup plan. Rain becomes atmosphere, not emergency.
- Waterfalls mean mist and slick trails. We know which spots earn the walk — and when to wear boots.
- One team shoots photo and film together. No competing tripods at your ceremony. One story, told two ways.
- Drone coverage shows the scale you felt standing there. The cliffs get their close-up.
Real weddings in the Gorge
Six celebrations, five venues, one river.
MacKenzie & Dan at Cape Horn Estate
Perched on a Stevenson, WA cliffside, Cape Horn Estate faces rugged peaks and the winding river. Under an open Northwest sky, MacKenzie and Dan promised to protect each other's hearts and choose each other every day. Dan called her the woman of his dreams and the light of his life. Loved ones likened his loyalty to a golden retriever. The happy tears proved it landed. Best friends, filmed like it.
Zach & Nicole at Westcliff Lodge
Their story began with an unexpected weekend meeting. At Westcliff Lodge — seven acres of cliffside gardens above Hood River — it became forever. Zach told Nicole she is the love of his life and his very best friend. He promised to never let conflicts linger. He'd stand by her through every sunny day and every storm. Nicole, who says he makes her feel safe and cherished, pledged to choose him as her teammate for life. The bride cried. Nearly every guest did too.
Kristi & Micah at Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa
Long-distance visits revealed an effortless connection. A Christmas Day engagement set the rest in motion, and family gathered on short notice. The 1920s-era Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa brought clifftop gardens and its own waterfall. Kristi and Micah promised to laugh together and weather life's challenges. And to find new reasons to love each other every day. Loved ones swore they had never seen Micah smile so much.
Lauren & Wills at Tin Roof Barn
Tin Roof Barn sits in the rolling hills of White Salmon, WA. A century-old barn, ringed by apple orchards. There, Lauren thanked Wills for teaching her self-love. He is the first person who ever made her feel truly beautiful in her own skin. They promised to face the future side by side, come what may. He vowed to support her dreams; she pledged to be his biggest encourager. String lights, wildflowers, dancing under the rafters.
Jordan & Sarah at Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa
Jordan and Sarah have been inseparable since they met — matching outfits by accident, finishing each other's sentences. On the garden lawn, Sarah's vows had her bridesmaids openly weeping. Jordan pledged to calm her fears, support her dreams, and admit when he's wrong. (Laughter through tears.) Her sister's toast: never had she seen Sarah so blissfully happy. He wiped her happy tears before their first kiss.
Marina & Aaron at The Griffin House
A dating-app match five years ago. Countless trips as each other's favorite "travel buddy." Then vows on a bluff at The Griffin House, a 120-year-old estate on a private cliff above the river. Aaron promised daring dreams, quoting Marina's grandparents: "fill the dash" and always dare to dream together. Marina vowed to remain his steadfast partner and best friend. Sunset spilled gold across the cliffside.
