SKAMANIA LODGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER — COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE
You chose the gorge for the feeling. We make sure you keep it.
You've stood on that lawn above the Columbia. You already know why it's the one. Now the practical questions creep in.
- Who catches the light when it turns gold over the cliffs — without pulling you out of your own cocktail hour?
- Do your photographer and videographer move as one team, or fight for the same angle all day?
- Your people are here for the whole weekend. Who covers the parts outside the timeline?
And under all of it, a quieter wish: to feel like a guest at your own wedding. Not its stage manager.
That's the job we do here. One team for photo and film. One calm plan. You stay inside the day; we keep it.
How we cover a Skamania Lodge wedding
- The amphitheater at golden hour. Your ceremony space sits open-air above the river, framed by evergreens. In late summer the sun drops behind the cliffs and turns everything gold. We scout that light before your day, so portraits take minutes — not a hike.
- The lodge after dark. Timber beams. Stone hearths. Fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows. The room glows on its own, so your reception film looks warm, never flashed-out.
- The whole weekend arc. Skamania is 45 minutes from Portland, but your guests settle in — spa, forest trails, s'mores at the fire pits. One coordinated team means photo and film never trip over each other, and the in-between moments get kept too.
- The scale of it. The gorge is enormous. Your film should feel it. Drone coverage opens on the river and cliffs, then drops right back into your vows.
Two weddings we loved here:
Mimi & Stuart at Skamania Lodge
Mimi and Stuart had already weathered a lot together — career changes, family losses, countless happy adventures. This day felt like the culmination of all of it. They married under a floral chuppah overlooking the river, the late-summer sun turning the cliffs gold. Their vows thanked each other for the small things: surprise bouquets, home-cooked dinners. When they were pronounced husband and wife, the crowd erupted in a joyful "Mazel Tov!" Then dusk fell, and everyone moved inside to crackling fireplaces and candlelight.
Megan & Ryan at Skamania Lodge
Megan and Ryan knew within months of meeting: this was it. Over the years they became each other's balance — when Ryan's nerves ran high, Megan's calm brought him back to center. They married in a hilltop ceremony in the open-air amphitheater, evergreens towering on every side. Their vows spoke of "forging a new path" together and staying best friends through every adventure. The night unfolded under wooden beams and twinkling lights — and ended at the fire pits, talking under the stars.
