Treat the river view as one line item in a longer list. Before you fall too hard, confirm how guests arrive and park, where everyone goes if the weather turns, whether ceremony audio can compete with the wind, and the route between getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, dinner, and dancing.
The Gorge can change personality within a few miles. Ask each venue how it handles wind, rain, heat, smoke, and seasonal road issues — and ask who makes the weather call, and when the backup layout has to be activated.

The tour questions that save you later
Walk the exact path your guests will use, from parking to ceremony to dinner. Photograph the backup layout, the getting-ready rooms, the ceremony direction, power locations, loading areas, and your portrait options. And ask when sunset is actually visible from the property — the horizon at a cliff-side venue rarely matches the sunset time on your weather app.
Then confirm the unglamorous details: sound limits, end time, guest transportation, nearby lodging, vendor meals, insurance requirements, cleanup duties, and any restricted areas.
