ENCINITAS WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER • NORTH COASTAL SAN DIEGO

Your Encinitas wedding, on film  the vows, the salt air, and your dad's toast, kept for forty years.

One calm team for film and photo, from barefoot ceremonies above Moonlight Beach to garden vows at the San Diego Botanic Garden. If you're looking for an Encinitas wedding videographer who won't turn your day into a production set, you're in the right place.

A newlywed couple looks at each other from a vintage convertible.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Your photos are handled. But at 2 a.m. you wonder: will you regret never hearing your vows again — or your maid of honor's toast, exactly the way she delivered it?

You've watched a dozen wedding films from Encinitas and Cardiff. Slow-motion veils. Drone loops. They've started to blur together — and it's not your fault they have.

You want a film that feels like your people on your beach-town day — bare feet, board shorts under suits, surfboards in the parking lot. Not a styled shoot you'll cringe at in ten years.

You get one take at this day. We make sure one take is enough.

One team handles your photography and your wedding film together. No dueling cameras on the dance floor. You'll relive the whole day whenever you want — and someday, you'll sit your grandkids down and press play on how it all started.

We're your Encinitas wedding videographers if…

  1. You want the getting-ready hours on film, not just the highlights.

The robe-and-champagne morning. Your mom zipping the dress. Your friends singing along to the same playlist from high school. We plan a calm, styled window for it — never a rushed snapshot out the door. These frames become the open of your film, and they set the tone for everything after.

  2. You want portraits — and portrait footage — with real time behind them.

On most wedding days, couples get a few borrowed minutes. We schedule a dedicated session — before the first look, or even the day before — just for you two. On film, that time reads as ease: the way you actually laugh together, not the way strangers pose.

  3. You love imagery that has something to say.

Vintage cars, surf-town details, editorial look-book framing — bring it on. We shoot documentary coverage all day, then carve out a planned couples' session where we take real time getting you both comfortable on camera. Grooms, we're looking at you.

  4. You want the camera to feel like an old friend by the wedding.

Our 1–2 hour engagement sessions turn camera-shy into camera-confident. Around Encinitas, we love the bluffs at Swami's or the gardens at San Diego Botanic Garden for these. By your wedding day, the cameras will feel like old friends.

  5. You want a bold, polished look in the finished film.

Professional retouching and elevated editing come standard in every package — film and photo alike. We shoot digital on purpose. It gives us far more latitude to finish every frame you receive.

  6. You want someone in your corner when the timeline slips.

Photo and film time is the first thing cut when a day runs late. We've watched it happen from the sidelines. So we start earlier, stay longer, and advocate for your coverage with your coordinator. Most of our couples book 10–12 hours — that time is where the once-in-a-lifetime footage actually comes from.

Prefer a crew that stays invisible and shoots on Super 8? No hard feelings — book us for photography instead. ;)

The Engagement Session Promise

Choosing a videographer from websites is nearly impossible. Everyone's highlight reels look alike on a screen. So don't choose from a screen. Come shoot with us first, at no cost. We'll film and photograph you somewhere you love — the Botanic Garden paths, the Cardiff bluffs, wherever feels like you. If you don't love what we make, don't hire us for the wedding. No invoice, no hard feelings, no follow-up pressure.

Every couple who has taken us up on this has booked the wedding. We're not worried either.

All-In-One Convenience

One coordinated team covers your photography and your wedding film. Fewer vendors to manage. One consistent style across your gallery and your film. And nobody stepping into anyone else's shot.

Book photography and film together and you save $1,000 — and your engagement session is included.

One team means one contract, one timeline, one style. Because one team genuinely costs less to run, booking both puts $1,000 back in your budget. Your engagement session comes with it — which means you'll know exactly how we work before the wedding ever starts.

How this works

  1. Check your date. Tell us when and where — we'll send the full pricing and availability guide within two business days.
  2. Meet us first. A consultation or your free engagement session, so you know exactly how it feels to have us around before you commit to anything.
  3. Live your wedding. We'll handle the keeping of it.

Don't choose us from a website. Come shoot with us first, at no cost. Love your engagement photos and film, or don't book us for the wedding — no invoice, no hard feelings.

It's hard to know who to trust with a day you can't redo. Try us at an engagement session first. Don't love what we make? Don't hire us. We're not worried — everyone who has taken us up on this has booked the wedding.

We're not the cheapest team filming weddings in North County, and we won't pretend to be. Investment starts at $4,000 for photography and $7,000 for photography and videography. You're trusting us with the one day that can't be re-shot — that's where the money goes.

Hi, I'm J.D.

— founder of Wildwood Wedding Films & Photography, and a former classroom teacher. Since 2019, I've filmed and photographed 150+ weddings across Oregon, Washington, and California. That includes San Diego County celebrations at 27 Acres Estate and on the cliffs at Sunset Cliffs. Years of teaching, from Texas to the Bronx, means nothing on your wedding day rattles me. Off the clock, I belay my twin daughters at the climbing gym. Tell me what you're planning in Encinitas.

Explore weddings along the North County coast

We're based in Oregon and available to film weddings throughout San Diego County — Encinitas, Carlsbad, La Jolla, and down the coast. We plan around this coastline's light: the soft marine layer that rolls in off the Pacific on May and June mornings, and the long golden hour that follows when it burns off.

From 37 acres of botanical garden in Encinitas to the cliffs at Sunset Cliffs — the venue changes, the keeping doesn't.

Ready when you are. Send us your date and venue, and we'll reply within two business days — with availability, a detailed pricing guide, and honest thoughts on your Encinitas wedding.

After 150+ weddings, we've never made the same film twice. Couples are too different for that. Your playlist, your people, your patch of coastline — that's what the film gets built from.

An Encinitas wedding film you'll watch with your grandkids one day.

Whether you're planning vows on the Victorian Gazebo Lawn at the San Diego Botanic Garden or a barefoot ceremony above Moonlight Beach — our work is the same. Genuine, documentary-style coverage, plus magazine-worthy images where you look confident and natural. Even if you're camera shy.

Heirloom Films with Interviews: a highlight film should be more than pretty footage. So we sit down with your closest loved ones, on camera, on the day itself.

Here's the thing about your wedding day: you'll miss most of it. While you're at the altar, your grandmother is telling a story about you at table six. We capture that — and hand it to you.

Want to sit for an interview yourselves? We love asking couples how your love has changed you.

Our team shoots hybrid: every camera captures photo and video. So nobody duplicates anyone else's angle. One of us covers your details on film and photo at once while another records your Maid of Honor's interview.

The edit braids it all together — interviews, vows, toasts, the candid in-between. What you get back is a cinematic wedding film. The one your grandkids will ask to watch.

Encinitas wedding videographer FAQs

What kinds of wedding films do you offer?

You can choose a highlight film, a full ceremony film, or both. Our signature is the heirloom film: highlight coverage woven together with on-camera interviews from your loved ones, plus your vows and toasts. We'll walk you through each option in the pricing guide we send after you check your date.

How do you capture the audio for our vows and speeches?

We mic the ceremony and reception separately from the cameras, so your vows, your officiant, and every toast record cleanly — even outdoors, where Encinitas ocean breeze can fight a microphone. Clean audio is what makes a film worth rewatching, so we treat it as seriously as the picture.

Can we book you for videography only?

Yes. Plenty of couples hire us for film alone, and we're happy to work alongside your photographer. That said, most couples book both from our one team — it saves $1,000, includes your engagement session, and means no competing cameras in your aisle.

Do you use a drone for Encinitas weddings?

Where venue rules and FAA airspace allow, yes — drone footage suits this coastline beautifully, from the Cardiff bluffs to the Botanic Garden's 37 acres. Some coastal spots restrict flights, so we confirm with your venue first and always plan full ground-based cinematic coverage either way.

When will we receive our finished wedding film?

We edit with care, not haste — interviews, vows, and toasts take time to weave together well. Your exact delivery window for the highlight film and full gallery is spelled out in your pricing guide and contract, so you'll know the timeline before you ever book.
